Day 18 and 19 june 2015 was held in the chamber, the first edition of the job fair of Palencia with the aim of serving as meeting point between enterprises and social agents linked to employment, unemployed persons and the general public.

This fair, organized by the municipality of Palencia and the chamber of commerce, industry and services of Palencia, falls within the set of actions that include the Local Level of employment support both institutions develop together and that is funded by the european Social fund.

In the event included a total of 22 exhibitors, as it was attended by 12 institutions and organizations linked to employment and 10 of the main companies of the environment that ofertaban employment. In this way, participants were able to contact directly the companies and to hear at first hand their needs and profile requiring.

In addition to the personalized attention in the stands, was intended to improve the employability of the attendees through lectures, presentations and workshops taught by experts, with a varied program (selection processes, communication and the protocol, how to effectively address the interview, how to handle the anxiety about a selection process, social skills with job search, use of social networks in finding employment, innovation and entrepreneurship, employment and disability, employment and solidarity, how to find work in europe...). It offered a web space where you can make an active search of employment as well as a service of job orientation and business mentoring to entrepreneurs.

The public employment service Estatal (SEPE) was present at the booth with a 12 m 2 permanently cared by Provincial directorate in Palencia under the supervision of the Provincial Director, Mrs Laura León de Castro. The public at the booth was conducted in a booth in which the meeting was briefed on the certificates of professionalism, the contract for the training and learning, the contract in practices and the observatory of occupations. It had before it information leaflets both of these issues and other material which could be of interest. In Addition, the stand comprised two round equipped with laptop computers for a better explanation to interested visitors.

The exhibition was opened by mr. Alfonso Polanco Rebolleda, mayor of Palencia and D. Vicente Villagrá, president of the chamber of commerce, industry and services of Palencia, together with other authorities of the City of Palencia entries Castilla y León . In its journey through the fair, the motorcade was halted in the stand of the SEPE, where he became interested in the quality and effectiveness of information and job orientation that was being provided to participants.

Also during the two-day visit was attended by various individuals, including Mr. Ignacio Tremió Gómez, Director-General for policy of support for the disabilities of the ministry of health, social services and equality, who also visited the stand of the SEPE.
