ThePublic employment service Estatal (SEPE)attendedSouth Summit 2016 single platform, which aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem promoting interact across all its actors: startups, investors, corporations and institutions.

The fair, organized by Spain Startup, was held from 5 to 7 october 2016 in The N@ve of Madrid centre for the development created for the promotion and implementation of science, innovation and new technologies, where they met the most promising startups of southern europe, mediterranean and latin america, as well as international investors more powerful and corporations seeking innovation leaders through startups.

The event was held in a very dynamic, during the three days is developed a large number of workshops and presentations, all of them in english: at the Arena Stage unveiled the latest innovations in fields as diverse as industry and energy, technology financing (fintech), health and welfare, fashion and beauty, the media, entertainment, food, education and travel; the Innovation Stage was the meeting point in the early stages of innovative and large businesses debated on current innovation; in the Startup School experienced entrepreneurs advised on the cutting edge tools; and in the Investor Den the investor community shared best practices and discussed the greatest threats and opportunities in industry today.

In addition, during the event was held the Startup Competition, which was submitted more than 3 . 000 The entrepreneurs. 100 startups finalists had the opportunity to explain their projects to investors in a niche for themselves in the central corridor of the building.

In the area of stands was attended by over 100 exhibitors, between companies and agencies of the public administrations. On the stand of the SEPE informed visitors on the agency, the possibility of capitalising unemployment benefit for business purposes, the modalities of contracts for individuals, bonuses and aid to the recruitment for entrepreneurs, young people and self-employment in general andOne Portal job “ Empléate ”.

During the three days of South Summit 2016 gathered more than 12 . 500 participants 6 . 700 entrepreneurs, 600 investors and over 400 'speakers'. The event was attended by leading figures of the international business world as Niklas Zennström, founder of Skype, Allen Blue, founder of Linkedin, Nolan Bushnell, founder Atari, or Kike Sarasola, founder of Room Mate Hotels.

The inaugural session was conducted by María Benjumea, founder of Spain Startup. The closing ceremony was also the presence of the minister of education, Culture and sport, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo and Montojo, and of the mayor of Madrid , Manuela Carmena Castrillo.
